Alex Mundy has painstakingly restored the concert experience by matching the surviving original reels with audience recordings to provide us with a close approximation of Fripp's The Music System lecture tour.

“America radio has steadfastly refused to play anything I’ve been associated with on which I personally draw money, although I played on some tunes for a man called Bowie a while ago. I did actually hear the piece Fashion popping up on radios in all very strange places. All over the place I would hear that and I get awfully excited. I wouldn’t like you to think I’m a very kind of ‘cool’ professional musician but when I hear myself playing away on the radio I get so excited. I would even have asked him for his autograph but I felt it was kind of tacky.”

memories
I was at this show. The HotLips Moreno story. Massive/scary lead solo at the end. So nice to re-experience this evening again (~ though it is curious and somwehat disturbing to realize how unreliable past recollections can be).

Thank you
Indeed, Alex did a tremendous work in putting, cutting and glueing all the recordings together to one sequence. For sure, this recording and the whole tour will not be the top seller @ dgm’s. Therefore a wonderful commitment and effort - Alex’ work for present and future time cannot be overestimated.
