Five days after Paris the Frippertronics road show rolls all the way up to Sweden. Fripp is in fine expressive fettle on what he calls Experiments In Music For Journalists. Indeed such is ground he’s covering in the first 18 minutes alone it’s almost as though this was a kind of show reel demonstrating the range of the medium. Although the smooth, stately sweep is alluded to here in Stockholm, overall the four short pieces lack the majestic scope of the previous concert and there’s a somewhat fragmentary feel prevalent. Nevertheless the rhythmic figures in the final section will be of interest to Frippertronerholics.

More Heavenly Music
Music For Bo could almost be subtitled The Heavenly Music Corporation, Part II. Simply superb, sublime & searing. Loop I envelops the mind in an array of beautiful musical waterfalls, before slowly veering into a slightly foreboding realm. The second loop features a cascade of opening Frippertronic raindrops, reverberating against the psyche. This is a very rewarding musical listen.

Close Encounters with Mr. Fripp
There are two pieces work remarking on here: Music For Bo is quite sublime - serene, yet perhaps a bit sad, it reminds me of some of the later Soundscapes. Experiments...III has an amusing reference to the Close encounters theme at the end. Unfortunately, otherwise the show is rather undistinguished to my ears.
