October 2009 proved to be a busy-as-usual month for the Happy Gigster, beginning with sessions addressing Orchestral Soundscapes in the company of David Singleton, and attending a playback celebration of King Crimson’s catalogue appearing to 5.1 surround sound at Air Studios in the company of other Crims, past, present and (as it would later transpire) future.

And then it was back on the road in the company of road dog, Trevor Wilkinson to do a series of concerts in Europe opening for Porcupine Tree. In Amsterdam, Fripp took to the stage to perform in front of around 5000 people who were waiting for Porcupine Tree to perform The Incident.

After the gig, Fripp noted in his diary, “Two flashes but no boos. I enjoyed playing to a generally-politely-supportive audience whose attention wavered after c. 20 minutes of bleeping & droning; as is conventional for Soundscapes in a support slot.”

Tracks in Brackets, have been previously released as part of the Music For Quiet Moments Series

In addition to the show itself, it’s nice being able to hear the soundcheck for this show.
