As Crimson start getting near the end-run of this tour there’s a tangible power that keeps building from venue to venue and this gig is no exception. However, a change in the set running order produces some glitches to the flow of the show in Toronto; the changeover between EleKtric and Level 5 (here moved up to early set from its usual place near the end) not working as well as it should. Indeed it’s a fair few bars before Level 5 finally ‘arrives’ as it were, suffering from drop-outs and fluffed lines, but nevertheless delivering quite a punch. Of these two new pieces Eye-witness and ET correspondent Antoine Caron observed that “It was really a thrill to hear these for the first time, without any expectations. I think it is safe to say that no other rock band requires so much patience and attention from the audience. Not too surprisingly, perhaps, the audience was relatively quiet, trying to digest the new stuff..."Construkction of light" was played very well and picked up the pace. Then, another new piece (Virtuous Circle?). This one was magnificent, with a lush, exotic atmosphere. I must really command Pat on his tasty use of samples and assorted sounds (including some from the Talking Drum!), as well as Ade's kalimba/synth sounds. A great way to evoke Crimson's long and magic past. I thought this was a turning point in the concert. The audience seemed more "into it' and greeted Lark's Tongues part5 with abandon. This one ROCKED so hard. The quality of the playing was unbelievable. Fripp zoomed though his "impossible" section with such ease! Trey was a monster all the way and Adrian's solo was great. Quite a finish!”
