Captured on the 8th day of their eastern tour, the Double Trio are sounding confident. Listen out after the finish of a fearsome Frame By Frame – shouts of “Yo!” and a long-standing warble of approval can be heard emanating from somewhere between the two drummers.

Vrooom sees Bruford and Mastelotto constantly pass the baton of beat-keeping between each other; Fripp and Belew swap lead lines; Levin and Gunn alternate melody and rhythm with Levin adding uber-texture on the upright. Fans of TLev will have a field day during Neurotica as the foibles of this particular soundboard mix put Tony right up front

The keen listener will spot that a section of the improv in Thrak eventually found its way onto THRaKaTTaK’s Mother Hold The Candle Steady While I Shave The Chicken’s Lip.

Exceptional Thrak
Thrak is a real monster, the band are riding a wave. For a brief moment it even sounds like the insanity is going to start up again after the closing theme. The show even opens with some free improv in the thrak mode The unbalanced mix is a chance to examine those juicy basslines on Neurotica and Sex, Sleep.. Two Sticks previews a TG riff we'd hear a few years later in the Projekcts before arriving on more familiar turf

THRAK
This is a really great show! It may get overlooked because of other great shows from around this time but it really shouldn’t be passed up. Everybody is on the top of their game here with all the songs getting massive workouts.
