Amazing - apart from the sound
It was amazing to hear KC live for the second time - my first time was Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996. Everything was awe-inspiring, the venue, the staging with the 3 drum sets upfront, the lineup, the tracklist - I loved the version of Islands, Lizard and even Easy Money which is not normally my favourite track. But, unfortunately the sound left me frustrated. Maybe I was in a blackspot (I was almost directly in front of the band at the front of the middle tier level so would not have thought so) but it was as if every instrument, apart from Tony Levin's basses and Jakko Jakszyk's vocals, was competing with each other for volume and they all seemed to be saturated which meant that most of the nuances were completely lost in a wall of sound. And for me, worst of all were the snare drums which overpowered everything else everytime they were hit... and this applied to all 3 snare drums! This did not ruin the gig for me but it could have been so much more enjoyable.
