After the final night of the tour proper in Vancouver, the Crimson crew headed to the studios of ABC to rehearse and record their spot for ABC’s flagship comedy vehicle. Touted as a rival to Friday Night Live, ABC’s Fridays enjoyed a run of three years. On the night King Crimson played Elephant Talk and Thela Hun Ginjeet, they were sandwiched between show regular, comedian Rich Hall and Easy Rider star Peter Fonda. The two numbers make for a pretty interesting not to say edgy contribution on a show whose musical guests were generally a tad more conventional. After this show went out, just five days later the team were in Japan to conclude a truly momentous year in the KC calendar.

Outstanding !
Not much to review here other than that it’s Outstanding !! Just writing to clarify the top portion of the description of the show Fridays. Not to nitpick here but it was to Saturday Night Live , not Friday Night Live. There was no such show.

This is where it began for me
It was on this show that I first became aware of a band named King Crimson. They changed my life forever from the minute I saw them. So moved was I that I got up from my seat and yelled "Who the f--- ARE these guys?!!" This did not set well with my parents who I had just awakened rudely. The 80s lineup were my formal introduction, but as I grew older I found I loved Crim ’74 the best, which is why the last tour still strongly resonates so within me. Can’t wait for next year!!!
