Yet another glimpse into the inner workings of Frame By Frame from the Discipline recording sessions in May 1981. By stripping away the principal guitars, DGM engineer, Alex"Stormy" Mundy reveals a fascinating alternative world lurking below the surface of Frame By Frame. Driven along by Stick and drums, we quickly encounter Adrian Belew’s sunny tape looped vocals, the yearning harmony provided by Tony’s backing vocal and, lines and chords from the Roland keyboard played by Fripp. The subtle interaction of all these elements when meshed with the main guitar motifs is easily overlooked. Here, however thanks to Stormy's ministrations the piece presented in this manner could almost be a completely different song. For hard core fans of this line-up it's wonderful to be able to hear the construction process of one of this incarnation's most notable tracks.
