MARGIE ON THE RUN

Here's a message from Margie Pomeroy-Wallace, Ian Wallace's widow - please do what you can to support Margie's half-marathon run for this good cause.

On February 22, 2007, my husband and best friend, Ian Wallace died.  He was diagnosed six months earlier with esophageal cancer.  He fought so hard and suffered so much but I am determined that his death will not be meaningless.  Help me raise the dollar that funds the researcher who finds a cure for cancer.  Help me raise money to support free programs and services for cancer patients. Help me fight cancer for Ian and for all the friends and family we've lost along the way to this dreaded disease.

Most of us have been touched by cancer in some way. This is my way of fighting back against a disease that has taken too much. When I cross that finish line, I will be doing it for you and for all the people we know who’ve been touched by this disease. More than 11 million Americans who have a history of cancer will celebrate another birthday this year. Please support me with a donation so that together, with the American Cancer Society,  we can help save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays
This year I have decided to join the American Cancer Society DetermiNation endurance event program, and I would like to ask for your help as I try to cross two finish lines instead of just one.

I’m participating as part of the DetermiNation endurance event program to raise money to help end cancer. This means that all of the months, miles, and hard work I put into training for this race will be for something greater than a personal victory – it will directly help people with cancer in my community and everywhere. I know that there are a lot of great causes out there, but the DetermiNation program speaks to me because funds raised enable the American Cancer Society to save lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and fighting back today. With your help, we can create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

I’m truly excited to be a part of this team, and I hope you’ll support me if you can so that I can finish the race and achieve my goal of raising money for the American Cancer Society.

I know times are tough for many of us right now, so I appreciate any contribution you can offer. They say that every donation makes a difference, and it really is true. Your gift will mean so much to me, and countless other people who really need our help right now.

Each of us has our own reasons for caring about the fight against cancer. Whatever your reasons, I hope you’ll choose to make a difference by donating online to support my effort. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, 11 million cancer survivors are celebrating another birthday this year! Together we truly are saving lives and creating a world with more birthdays. I’m so grateful to have great people like you in my life who care about cancer!
