ADRIAN OFF TO OZ

Thanks to Dan for sending in a review of Adrian's School of Rock gig last month  and here's news that following his stint in Europe in April, Adrian is heading to the land down under.  This is news which is sure to go down in a Crim-starved part of the world.

For more details about his Australian tour check out Ade’s website.

The Guitar Wizard of Oz clearly thrilled at the prospect of getting to Australia!

Whilst we’re looking at Adrian, I’m grateful to Dan for sending me a review of the School of Rock show in Falls Church last month.

"Don't ever let it be said that kids have no appreciation for "challenging"
music!  On February 10, 2006 the State Theatre in Falls Church, Virginia was
taken over by moms, dads, Paul Green, the School of Rock All-Stars, a few of
us Crimson fans, a bunch of kids and Adrian Belew.  Needless to say a good
time was had by us all.

The very idea of the all-stars (ranging from 11 to 18 years old) backing up
Adrian was one thing, but then to watch and hear them pull it off was just
inspirational.  The poise with which they worked through the rough spots
(kudos to the drummer for his righting of the ship during ToaPP) shows how
accomplished they are as performers and provided for a very entertaining
show.

All I could think about is what Bill Bruford, Tony Levin, Robert
Fripp, Trey Gunn or Pat Mastelotto might think if they were there listening
to these students take a big swipe at their parts...and I'm sure they'd be
grinning too.

Crim highlights for me were Frame By Frame (WOW), Happy..., Dinosaur and Elephant Talk.  Big Electric Cat was a hoot to see performed live for the
first time since I saw Adrian at the Wax Museum in DC waaaay back in 1983,
and I Remember How To Forget was alot of fun too.  Adrian's solo in Purple
Haze was like, crazy man, and we were all reminded that it is OKAY to play
covers....

You just can't help but smile when you see people bopping along to kids on
stage, the kids in the audience paying close attention to what was going on,
and the biggest kid of all, Adrian Belew having such a great time.  It was
an outstanding evening of music and fun!"
