King Crimson turned up to play at Hyde Park supporting The Rolling Stones. Ian McDonald's diary notes "Up morning. Got bus to Hyde Park for Stones concert.  ½ million people there. Did 35 minute spot. Great.  Stones not too good. Walked for a meal.  Back to flat.  Lot of people came over (19). Nice."

Robert Fripp's journal records "Standing ovation.  Mammoth Success, of importance which will take time to appreciate.  We’ll look back on this day in years to come and fully realise its significance."

You can download the set they played that day here.
