There’s nothing particular unusual about bands and instrumentalists covering King Crimson numbers, people do it all the time. However vocalist Petra Haden has one of the more inventive approaches to the music as can be heard on her most recent upload, Red, performed A capella.
A violinist as well as a vocalist, Haden has worked with The Decemberists, Paul Motion, Bill Frisell and many others. The daughter of bassist Charlie Haden, she’s been releasing a capella arrangements of work by other artists, including The Who, for several years in addition to her own original material.
