On this date 45 years ago today Bill Bruford, John Wetton, David Cross and Robert Fripp performed a brand new song called Guts On My Side. This song was written during the same sessions from which Starless emerged.Whereas Starless went on to become a key part of Crimson's legacy, Guts was only ever played once in concert as far as we can tell and then dropped. It was totally forgotten about until a tape of the concert at Udine in Italy was discovered in 2006. Somewhat perplexed by this strange song the team at DGMLive circulated it to the Crims in order to find out more about it. None of the Crims we spoke to at the time had any memory of it whatsoever. Richard Palmer-James did however and recalled the lyrics and the title. All of which makes this show rather special.
