Morning reading…

09.50 A click! and another powerful experience while at Sherborne House, one which nearly re-directed the course of my life, is clarified by DU IV. This relates to JGB’s thesis for the historical entry of Original Sin into human life, and the form it took. Clearly, writing in 2011, in a post-Christian England and culture where conventional forms of theological notions are widely taken as evidence of a feeble mind and deep-seated witlessness, this is further evidence of Fripp’s sad and pitiable state. Good to question the ideas that we are presented in any field, test them against our experience, even find contemporary forms of expression and a current vocabulary to reflect upon them; that is, to adopt critical goodwill when engaging with received opinion in the area of our interest; and noting, this is a practical matter.
Now, in this particular area of my interest… a powerful experience, in the company of Brother Peter Willis in his room at Sherborne one evening c. November 1975, that indicated my life might be successful were it to take a particular direction. It would have been the wrong direction. But the power in only three words spoken to me, and not by a voice of this world.
The only other reference I have found, that helped give perspective to this experience, was in the biography of a Russian Orthodox monk.
It has been difficult, growing up and living much of a life in public, to speak/write directly of the experiences that have shaped who and what I am. Yet, these are at my core. And as I no longer walk onto a public stage, who cares if these few words are taken as further proof of that Awful Man’s notorious eccentricity?
12.15 A few further steps with The Writing Project.
17.47 Shopping on the High Street…

… and to the greengrocer, the fishmonger. A conversation with the fishmongress on the impact of supermarkets. A small adventure of the local kind, and very satisfying.
Over to World HQ…

… to collect some jade plants, and an afternoon of potting and re-potting…

More satisfaction of the domestic variety; none of it exciting, none of it interesting to anyone other than myself, with the possible exceptions of WillyFred and the Minx; but of high value to me.
In London, at the Leicester Square Theatre, T is rocking out
"Celebrating 30 Years since her break through platinum album Anthem, this live concert will include selections from her first 3 cult charting albums, Sheep Farming in Barnet, Blue Meaning AND Anthem. Toyah will be performing the dark and quirky anthems that put her in the first "indie chart" at number one for the charts first 12 months, she was then a constant in the top 10 for the following three years before her break through single "it's a mystery" went to number four in the mainstream chart.
Her first three albums have been sited as the beginnings of Goth.
Anthem won the finest accolade of being performed live on the "Old Grey Whistle Test" at Drury Lane Theatre on Christmas eve 1981 for the BBC to 12 million viewers."
E-flurrying.
19.23 E-flurrying still.
19.34 To a respected fellow SSG member, enquiring as to the possibility of live performance in a European church…
as of december 4th. 2010, i am no longer a working player. probably, december 6th., when i landed & returned home!
so, gratefully and respectfully declined.
a transition is underway of considerable significance; how & what i don't know & am not very concerned about: i simply continue to gently watch over fripp's right shoulder.
overall, there is a sense of satisfaction at having paid the tab ahead of time.
trust this finds you well, and twitching gently in a good way...
Enough. To an evening practicing.
