A mere seven days after King Crimson’s first formal return to active service and the band are really cutting the mustard, the rug and quite probably the very legs [endtease]out from under all the nay-sayers who moan it shouldn’t have been done. Containing what is for this listener an arguably definitive live version of Matte Kudasai, the gig has some real energy: B’Boom swings like the clappers on this outing whilst Thrak is downright low and dirty, thrashing about in the muddy end of the pool – just where it should be! Sounding comfortable and more in control of things than the September outings, the Double Trio shred SSEDD and a fire off a cracking good Indiscipline that shows Belew’s mastery of comic timing and features a fearsome wigging out from the back three. The old and new elements have really started to gel. Don’t you love it when a plan comes together?

As good as B-Boom
This album is excellent and it is great to have the complete concert instead of best selections from the 4 shows like B-Boom (which I also enjoy).   Highlights are Discipline (not on BBOOM) and the ending of the concert with VROOM and CODA instead of Reprise of THRAK and IMPROV. (on B-BOOM) I saw this tour in US and it was phenomenal.   I also have PRIX D AMI and you can really see the cohesion in this show as opposed to the Sept 29 concert.  The band is much tighter and flows from one song to the next.   Bruford as always is simply amazing.   The Talking Drum is almost as good as the live 73-74 versions.  LTA pt  2 also rips.   Sound quality is acceptable too and all band members can be clearly heard.  Well worth the 10 bucks.    This line-up of the Double Trio has a lot of power to it.  Bruford and Levin never disappoint.   Belew sounds great and Mr. Fripp was surely on top of his game.   The new material also sounds great.   Though very close to B-BOOM if you are a true fan than you should download it.  Discipline alone is almost worth the 10 bucks.  No complaints at all.   :)
