This show was suggested as a must-have download by the Mighty Vargan and his pal Adam Aronson.[endtease] When Alex “Stormy” Mundy heard the tape he agreed, declaring “This really is a great show. There is a great VROOOM, probably the best I have heard so far from this incarnation of Crim! Pat does a great job of playing all the drum parts on this piece. Thrush is very good, with a great solo from Robert!”

Elsewhere it’s just possible that we have the definitive version of Seizure – as tight as a fish’s butthole, it’s as though all the work of the projeKct 4 and previous tours have been distilled into a near-perfect 8 minutes. And if that wasn’t enough there’s a rather charming second bell-driven improv chimes so sweetly.
If you ever needed to know why Adrian Belew is the muts nuts then cop your listening gear around his solo on Oyster Soup where he not only takes a line for a walk, but swirls it around his head like a lasso.

The resulting weird shapes and angular swipes is what make this track and a cracking rendition of LTIA pt4 stand-out. Meanwhile Stormy’s verdict is as follows: “Overall a very good show that I recommend thoroughly to one and all.”

Great improvs
Get this one for the two improvs. Overall it’s a good concert, but not nearly as powerful as the 10/24/2000 House Of Blues. Add the Sendai improvs to 10/24 HOB and you’ve got a near-perfect double-duo 2000 show. --Chris DeVito
