Offenbach is a strange beast of a concert that frequently bucks the riders and threatens to unsaddle even the most competent and confident of players. Whilst Oyster Soup (complete with meat grinding solo from ol’ Chicken Fingers)and SESDD both have an alluring devil-may-care savagery about them, FraKcture sees KC tested and occasionally found wanting as various fluffs and flubbed fingers take the piece into unchartered and possibly unwelcome territories.

Of the gig Robert observed “not our best performance” though that’s not to say there aren’t plenty of gems lurking in amongst the rough patches. Following the improvisation the band seem to put things up a gear including a breath-taking LTIA ptIV in which Belew can be heard on particularly devastating form. A sublime Thrush can be heard taking flight and despite wobbling precariously in places Vrooom rocks like there’s no tomorrow.

In his summary of the gig Trey reckoned “The sound was fantastic and the band was hot.” So one Crim says hot whilst the other says not. Fearless Crimhead, it’s up to you to decide for yourself!

Parts of the improv and Cage appeared on the Heavy ConstruKction package although this is the first time they’ve been presented in their unedited form.

Wow!
This entire tour (Europe 2000) has been so incredible to listen to, but this one? Wow! The Improvs! ...and then into a Cage so magnificently different than the shows prior to it! The bass seems fatter throughout, and the solos are more astounding than "usual" (if such a word can ever be applied to a KC show). If you haven't listened to this 2000 tour yet and aren't sure about downloading the whole tour, maybe start with this one. Warning: you'll then be wanting to listening every show this tour.

I still remember that show
Thank you for finally releasing the one and only KC show I’ve ever attended. I’ve been waiting for this for 9 years. :)Ok next step would be a dvd of that show ! I know this has been filmed for the "Bootleg TV" project ;)

One of the best..
..lots of personal memories, because I went to the concert with my father - which is special for me - who accompanied me because of my interest in the concert and his good fathers heart (the other 2 great concerts we were together as father&son - were Union-Chapel VdGG first Reunion/London, and Herbie Hanckock/Frankfurt). My father liked especially 3 of a perfect pair and Adrians voice. As I was not familiar with the material after the double-trio at that time, it was a b...

Thx
Thank you for making another show I was attending available for download (after Montreux a couple of weeks ago). The show was really excellent, even the venue is neither comfortable, nor has a good reputation for acoustics in the Frankfurt area. Albeit LTiA IV is monster, the whole gig is great entertainment - like Munich and Bonn - and is not as polished as the last gigs of the European tour in 2000.  Remark: The journal entry of RF refers to the Bonn gig the night before.
