"I Talk to the Wind" Wessex studio sessions 21st July 1969.
This is part of the bundle of previously unreleased recordings from the band's studio sessions at Wessex Studios in July and August 1969. The recordings are presented exactly as they appear on the original multitracks, engineered by Robin Thompson, with consecutive takes on each reel running seamlessly.
The band recorded most of the album repertoire twice, starting with some aborted sessions with Tony Clarke as prospective producer in early July. From July 16th onwards, the band then produced themselves (a highly unusual arrangement for a debut album then or now), which resulted in the final masters released several months later as "In the Court of the Crimson King".
All these sessions will appear in high resolution on the forthcoming “In the Court of the Crimson King 1969 complete recordings” boxed set to be released early in 2020.
They have been made available by download in 2019 to satisfy recent changes to copyright laws: All recordings must be released within the fiftieth year of their recording in order to continue to enjoy copyright protection. So these have been released to the DGMLive faithful – and are thus protected!
