Tony Levin has often stated that the running lines of TCOL, originally devised by Trey Gunn, are without doubt the most challenging piece he plays within Crimson. Running through a mental checklist, only when he’s ready does he give the nod to Pat Mastelotto to trigger the piano note sample and let the galloping begin. Aside from Tony’s rapidly circulating fingers, the elegant, interlocking notes from Fripp and Jakszyk, and Mel’s flowing sax break all add up to an especially fine construKction.
