YOUNG BOB ON COLIN SCOT ALBUM

Eclectic Discs have reissued Colin Scot's self-titled debut album.  Recorded in early 1971 and produced by John Anthony, Colin Scot features a stellar cast of musicians that include members of Yes, Rare Bird, Genesis, VdGG and Robert Fripp.

Of course with this kind of line-up it's easy to assume that it's a prog-tastic collaboration or a lost classic of the genre.  It's more akin to an Al Stewart album from the period - somewhere between folk and soft rock rather than a Tron-drenched affair.

Fripp's contributions were laid down when he was in the middle of working on Poseidon and he can be heard adding harmonics, colour and solos - most notably on the tracks Nite People and Here We Are In Progress.  Described in the Record Collector magazine as "a genuine lost classic", there's a full review of the album over on my blog.
