TWO HOURS OF CONTINUOUS SOUNDSCAPES

Here's another eye-witness account of RF's Soundscaping at Newlyn from TLev.  Well, OK not that TLev exactly but a chap called Trevor Lever, who sometimes gets called that by some of his online Crimhead pals.  A bunch of them headed down to Newlyn for the day and here's what Trev had to say.

"The church was full 250ish I would guess and mainly local folks. Fripp looked really at home wandering around the "congregation" just before the start of the "show".

All that was missing was a "dog-collar" to complete the image of homely country vicar. Amazingly, the audience was quiet and attentive for the entire 2 hours.

No photos, minimal talking - even with young kids wandering around. Only problem was the temperature - it was freezing. Robert was wrapped up, coat, scarf etc whilst playing.

For the last 10-15 minutes of soundscapes some of the children danced and moved to the music at the front of the church. I'm not sure how much if this - if any - was rehearsed. But it appeared that the children were responding to the music and Robert, in turn, was responding to their movements.

It really worked and there was a generous and enthusiastic amount of applause at the end (also from a smiling Robert at the side).

At the end, Robert "disappeared" no Q/A session - no signing."
