Theo Gets His Mojo Working

In addition to touring with his own band, David Sylvian and Soft Machine Legacy, and an album with The Tangent, (including Jakko Jakszyk on guitar) the ever-active Theo will be releasing an album of improvisations with Robert Fripp later this year. More details as soon as they emerge.

My thanks to GrahamG for sending this review of Double Talk by Theo Travis which appeared in the March edition of Mojo.

"Travis’s ambient and jazz leanings unite on this wonderfully trippy record featuring the leader’s saxes and flutes, Mike Outram on space-rock guitar and Pete Whittaker’s haunting Hammond. With Robert Fripp guesting, a groovy track called Portobello ’67 and a rather beautiful cover of See Emily Play, this is a rare, fine English psychedelic jazz." Reviewed by Chris Ingham, Double Talk gets a deserved four stars!

In the meantime, samples of Double Talk can be heard on Theo's Myspace site as well as his main website, you can read John Kellman's review of the record over on All About Jazz and of course you can take a peek at my take over on the blog.
