The Light Of Good Work Shines

It was 32 years ago today since King Crimson went out onto the stage of Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw to give what is regarded by many Crimheads as a definitive live performance.  Excerpted on Starless And Bible Black (though we didn’t know it at the time), the full concert was released in 1997 as the double CD set, The Nightwatch.

This splendid gig yielded a spectacular performance of Fracture, the lilting and beautiful improvisation, Trio and of course, the classic Starless And Bible Black which just happens to be this particular Crimhead’s fav rave.

In hallowed pages of Q / Mojo’s Prog Rock Special Edition the track was described thus:“Violinist David Cross shines on an improvisation so tight it could be offered in evidence to prove the case for mental telepathy. Complex and haunting.”

If you don’t have this double set (what the devil have you been doing????) then pop over to the DGM shop and pick up a copy right now!
