The drive to downloads continues apace.   R Whitman directs our attention to the news that unsigned band Koopa are poised to enter the charts via downloads.  He also goes on to say “much of the conversation on Slashdot about this has been fairly insightful also.” 

Halbie also writes to tell me that “One of my favorite record labels, Ropeadope Records is going the way of DGM.  All digital, artists retain copyrights, no advances, etc. This link to a blog at Wired magazine explains that, among other reasons for the change, "traditional" CD sales have plummeted.”
