Where the physical activity of playing is more important to the player than its musical meaning.
At a King Crimson performance, greeting the Royal Package, the differentiation is made between Outside The Event and Inside The Event, and then drawn to the Liminal Zone, in-between the outside and inside. This in-between is experientially the richest place to be: almost, potentially the most creative place in the whole event.
