My thanks to Ironageuk for spotting the following KC references on BBC radio this week.
He writes “BBC Radio 4 is developing a KC/RF obsession. On
Wednesday King Crimson were mentioned on ’Front Row’ in a feature, presented by
Andrew Collins, as a riposte to an online survey which had identified the top
ten tracks to make love to.
His list of the top ten to avoid making love to included Larks Tongues in Aspic (Parts 1 & 2) at number nine. Number ten was Elvis’ Old Shep and the rest of the list included The Who, Robbie Williams, The Dead Kennedys, theme from Dr Who, the national anthem, The Ramones, Wire and at number one, Napalm Death. It’s about 27 minutes in on this listen again link.
On Thursday night ’The Personality Test’, featuring guest presenter Rick Wakeman, had a section where the panel of comedians were riffing on the theme of Rick’s belatedly discovered love of vegetable gardening and imagined a village produce show where Lemmy’s marrows were competing with King Crimson’s giant peas and Robert Fripp’s chutney….about 11 minutes in, if you must.
Shows available to listen again for seven days from the original broadcast."
