KTU’s Quiver gets the thumbs-up in the latest edition of Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine. In attempting to describe the eclectic sounds KTU dials up, reviewer Tommy Udo observes "it’s like you might imagine Bitches Brew-era Miles if he had been brought up playing central European gypsy music or Scots accordion supremo Jimmy Shand if he had been born on Mars (and signed to ECM). Occasionally King Crimson-ish, sometimes Zappa-esque, they meander off into a whole globe of ethnic possibilities and back again."

So it’s just as well that we’ve got a copy of this marvellous platter to give away. All you need to do is send an email marked KTU to competitions@dgmlive.com and your name will be dropped into the hat of fate. Don’t forget to include your postal address with your entry. The winner will be announced on Friday 19th March. You can take a listen to KTU over on their myspace site as well as read my take on the album over on the blog.
Elsewhere Pat has been keeping busy with Stick Men, who have just completed a South American tour, and next month TU (just Pat and Trey) will be playing in Seattle.
Pat Mastelotto also joins forces with ex-Henry Cow wind player, Geoff Leigh as a guest appearing on The Entropy Is Strong by Joxfield ProjeX. You can check it out over on their myspace site.
