Alex 'Stormy' Mundy's selection today is a real rarity from the King Crimson vaults. Recorded in the summer of 1972 when the new incarnation was still finding its feet this excerpt from a 30-minute tape is doubly rare in that Robert Fripp was entirely absent from the session.
This recently discovered Larks’ fraKctal, highlights the way in which the players interact and float ideas as they conduct a musical conversation, developing the collective vocabulary they would hone and polish on tour later in the year. Previously unreleased in any form, this extract is exclusive to download and is not included in the forthcoming 50th-anniversary edition Larks’ Tongues In Aspic.
