Harry Miller, who played double on King Crimson’s Islands has a new archive release available on Ogun Recording, the pioneering jazz label he founded in 1974.
Born in South Africa, Miller became one of the key players in the British and European jazz scene. His work with Keith Tippett led to his invitation to play on Islands in 1971. The 40th Anniversary Edition of Islands featured several outtakes of Formentera Lady which prominently features the bassist’s contributions to the sessions. Miller died in 1983 but his legacy on numerous recordings is rightly revered and respected.
