Today Keith Tippett is 62 years young. The British jazz pianist first worked with King Crimson on the 1970 KC album, In The Wake of Poseidon, going on to make a substantial contribution to Lizard, and some beautifully lyrical playing on his final KC appearance, Islands.

Tippett is more widely known in the world of jazz having played with all the greats of his era (see here for a view of his extensive career). Earlier this year he collaborated on an album of more accessible jazz with his wife, Julie Tippetts (nee Driscoll) and a new generation of players led by Nostalgia 77 (producer Benedic Lamdin).

We’ve got a copy of the album to giveaway to curious DGMLive visitors. All you need to do to nab this one is send your name and postal address in an email headed TIPPETT to competitions@dgmlive.com The winner will be announced on Sunday 30th August.
