The 23rd March is a significant date in the Crim calendar marking as it does the release of not just one album but two. 23rd March 1973 saw Larks’ Tongues In Aspic unleashed upon an unsuspecting world. As Rolling Stone put it "You can’t dance to it, can’t keep a beat to it, and it doesn’t even make good background music for washing the dishes."
Eleven years later, March 23rd 1984 Three Of A Perfect Pair was the culmination of what had been a very difficult recording process giving birth to the third and final studio album of the 80s incarnation of the band. Record Mirror noted "I haven’t heard such a dreadful din since I tripped up over the cat last week and fell downstairs. I hate King Crimson almost as much as I hate their fellow old bores Pink Floyd."
