Good to see the recent surround sound reissues of ITWOP and Islands have been getting some recognition. Both ITWOP and Islands were voted at No.3 in Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine’s Top 10 reissues for 2010.

In its sister publication, Classic Rock, ITWOP was in at No.9 in their top ten reissues of the year. Here’s what they said about the album. “It’s 40 years this year since a patched-up King Crimson turned in their magnificent second album: a far-reaching album of avant-garde chaos and ever-so British whimsy. And in 2010 it still sounds as fresh as a daisy.”
Steven Wilson, who of course remixed the album and is also nominated for a Grammy for the surround sound version of Porcupine Tree's The Incident, talks about the records and is quoted as saying “Even after having worked on these albums so intimately, I’m still none the wiser as to how such astonishing music was created. Like all great music, it remains beyond the realm of words.”
Meanwhile ITWOP and Islands are reviewed here.
