If anyone has any knowledge of its whereabouts get in touch!
No, not the name of an exotic feathered friend but something else that has had fans twitching for a few years.
Ollie And The Blue Traffs was the name of a long lost album by the equal long lost and much missed, Ollie Halsall, and was produced by RF in 1972. DGMLive visitor Joerg got in touch to ask if anyone knew about this album which unfortunately was never released. Joerg has found these details.
Musicians included : Peter ’Ollie’ Halsall – keyboards, Robert
Fripp - guitars
John Halsey – drums, Max Von Schmacks – violin, Harry Miller
- bass
Gary Windo - sopranino sax.
It was recorded in January 1972 at Command Studios, London.
Tracks included The Russian Medical Fan Dance, Peter Abraham, And He Summoned
Up On The Tidal Wave and Number 3 (Instrumental).
Joerg helpfully also provides
this link to an article about the making of the album in the Melody Maker. Owen Keenan also got in touch to provide
this link with news that the Blue Traff guitar had been found and restored, though sadly no sign of the master tapes for this intriguing but elusive album.
