King Crimson’s vocalist and guitarist turns 67 today.
Jakko Jakszyk was lead vocalist and guitarist in the band’s 2014-2021 lineup. After seven years of touring and numerous live albums, Jakko is now focusing on his solo career, including the upcoming release of his new album, Son of Glen, out on June 27, 2025.
Jakko comments: “A romantic fantasy narrative based on what I discovered about my real father after decades of fruitless searching for him. Glen Tripp was a US airman based in the UK who fell for a dark-haired Irish singer. And here I was many, many years later repeating what he had done by falling for another. What if he had been watching me and guiding me from ‘afar’?”
The record is a companion piece of sorts to his acclaimed memoir ‘Who’s The Boy With The Lovely Hair’, that was released in October 2024, and explores many of the themes and the subjects that the book touches upon.
Here is the second single taken from Son of Glen ahead of the album's release later this month.
And stand by for news on the release here on dgmlive of the first of the King Crimson 2015 concert downloads, from the UK & Netherlands, with Jakko on vocals & guitar.
