Join us in sending birthday wishes to King Crimson’s violin and keyboard player from 1972 -1974. Playing on such legendary albums as Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black and Red, as well as many live albums, aside from his signature violin parts on tracks including Starless and Exiles, multi-instrumentalist David also played the Mellotron and electric piano and, in the early days of this lineup’s rehearsals, the flute.

David Cross with King Crimson on The Midnight Special, June 12, 1973.

Starless and Bible Black sessions in Air Studios, January 1974.
David currently plays a half fretted Violectra 5 string violin with his own The David Cross Band, and has just returned from performances on the 2025 Cruise To The Edge.
