Drawn To Soundscapes

There are a few more reviews and comments arising from RF’s soundscape performances in NYC at the weekend. There are also some photographs and  a couple of lovely pastel sketches from the fingers of artist Julia Sverchuk.

You can look at the other sketch Julia has posted  over on her blog.

Elsewhere, there was this observation “I attended the first and last shows, which were recorded for later broadcast. It was just him dressed in black and switching effects on and off on a black stack of synthesizer controls that stood next to him while he sat and twiddled minimally on his electric guitar. It wasn’t much to see, but then I wasn’t there to see him so much as hear his music. That was awesome.”

Mark in his Music Loft, had this to say of Soundscapes "Unlike the stop start karate like guitar riffs that have driven the various incarnations of King Crimson into ambitious rhythmic and harmonic musical territory, soundscapes play out as a Zen-like opponent to the familiar."
