Congratulations to Marcel de Roos of Holland and David Holland of Suffolk. Notwithstanding a shared piece of synchronicity, they both were able to tell me that the name of the Delta Saxophone Quartet album that featured the work of a series of well known minimalist composers was Minimal Tendencies. Consequently , they each win a copy of Dedicated To You...But You Weren't Listening: the music of Soft Machine by the Delta Sax Quartet. Don't worry if you entered Minimalist Tendencies after looking at the Amazon link as your entry was counted as well.

Staying with the Delta Sax Quartet for a moment, they are playing a concert with Hugh Hopper and Yumi Hara Cawkwell in Cambridge on Friday 8th February. Yumi tells me that they'll be performing her arrangement of that classic old Soft Machine toe-tapper, "Box 25/4 Lid."

Yumi will be playing piano on the retitled "Wrapped Box 25/4 Lid (with ribbons)" along with Hugh and the DSQ. You can check out all the details of the gig over on Cambridge Jazz's website.
You can hear more of the DSQ on their myspace site. And if you're heading that way, well you might as well stop off and say hello to Yumi at her  myspace site as well.
