COMPETITION TIME AGAIN

Those nice people at Eclectic Discs have provided us with two copies of the recently issued Julie Driscoll album, 1969.

Mastered from the original tapes for the first time on CD, this is a cracking album with a stellar cast of supporting musicians including Keith Tippett, Nick Evans and Mark Charig all of whom will be familiar to Crimson fans.  The real star is Julie herself who sings with passion and soul.

Though Julie is now best known for her work in improvised music with husband Keith Tippett and as an artist in her own right, her debut solo album shows what a good songwriter she was, forensically documenting her disenchantment with the music industry rat race of the late sixties.

You can read a full review of the album over on my blog.  All you have to do to win a copy of this album is to tell me the name of the record on which Boz, Julie and Crimso co-founder Ian McDonald all appeared together. Answers on the guesbook as usual.  The winners will be announced on September 20th.

And speaking of winners, Sean Hollenhors winner of Volume One of Collectable King Crimson had this to say upon getting the news that the fickle finger of fate had singled him out:

"I am beyond flabbergasted! I am Frippergasted? Wow! I would like to thank the fine folks at DGM for providing the perfect outlet for my trivia riddled brain. Huzzah!"
