CARRBORO FEEDBACK

DGMLive visitor candrsn was at Robert’s performance in Carrboro last night and here is what he had to say.

“Wow, what a touching show tonight at the Arts Center in Carrboro, NC!  I drove in from a location about 50 miles to the east to listen to Mr. Fripp entertain and inspire the Raleigh area audience with his soundscape delights, and it was a very memorable event.

The music was wrapped in what seemed like three large epics of work, each displaying a certain hue of the soundscape world.   The first and third "movements" were seemingly of a more hopeful nature, whereas the second was a bit darkened (or maybe cautious is the word), but all the while, strong spirited.  Even though I sat at the back row to Roberts left, I felt the full expanse of the sound and it  was persistent in its clarity and precision.  The occasional dips and dives into an utter sonic blackness, contrasting with a wall of beauty carried the music into realms of its own as Mr. Fripp pondered the next "guitar stroke".

It was very exciting to guess at the next note, the next  feel  but I could not keep up.  I sat in complete admiration as the sounds continually washed away, making for a wonderful evening.

The question and answer "session" was a wonderful treat as well and I thank Mr. Fripp for this special time that he granted to the audience.  Mr. Fripp took the words right out of my mouth with his response to the question concerning the visual/audio sequencing!!
The third movement, or the post-Q&A session music, was splendid! Enjoy your stay in NC!"

Thanks for that candrsn.  Don't forget to post us your impressions of the gigs so we can include them here and as part of the show notes as and when and if the performances become available on DGMLive.
