Owen Keenan brings news that will quicken the pulse of any fan of KC’s Lizard / Island period.
“There’s a new CD from Chris McGregor’s Brotherhood of Breath out called Eclipse at Dawn. This might be noteworthy for the DGM visitors as it features Mark Charig, Nick Evans and Harry Miller and was recorded live in Nov 1971 around the time these three were also working with King Crimson. Cuneiform Records has the details and I’ve managed to find out the full line-up and track listing.
1. Introduction by Ronnie Scott 0:56
2. Nick Tete 8:19
3. Restless 12:01
4. Do It 7:22
5. Eclipse at Dawn 7:24
6. The Bride 15:36
7. Now 8:41
8. Funky Boots March 1:46
9. Ronnie Scott & Chris McGregor send-off & applause
2:33
Owen continues "I heard this recording last year and I have to agree that this is the best BoB live recording made available yet. An absolute stonker! I can’t wait to get my hands on the official version. Cuneiform always does a good job on the whole remastering/reissue package, and this one has a 16 page booklet apparently. Great stuff.”
Great stuff indeed as a glance at that line-up will indeed confirm.
