My thanks to Antonio for sending me this link to an interview with Richard Wright, winner of this year's Turner Prize. When asked to define beauty the artist has this this to say: "I don’t know what beauty means," he told me. " ’Beauty’ is an awkward
word that way – a little like ’love’. But I know that I’m interested in
beauty. And that people make beautiful things all the time. To me,
Robert Fripp’s guitar playing is beautiful. It all depends on the
audience. At certain times, people decide that beauty is a necessity." Here's another interview with the artist though this time without any reference to RF.
