Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. With five days to go before this new site celebrates its first month of existence - a process of crossing the bridge while building it - it would appear that we do at last have a stable structure that reaches from one shore to the other. Our thanks to all those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and the users who have tolerated the occasional outtages, and who have suggested solutions and improvements. 

This is not the end or the beginning of the end. The two major issues - making the Amazon Cloud expand seamlessly to demand and encouraging Worldpay to accept payments - are still being tweaked. But (until I get a barrage of emails saying otherwise), we appear to have workable solutions. We discovered yesterday that Worldpay (who process the credit cards) have a fraud detection system that treats repeat users as suspicious. Have they never heard of King Crimson fans? Discussions are ongoing...

In the coming week, the chief items on the "request list" - namely 1,000 Club credit tracking, email confirmations, RSS feeds - should all be operational. That will be perhaps the end of the beginning, and then we can move forward to the next items on the list adn adding content to all the pages that currently languish unloved.
