ASK SID. . .

There's been a lot of feedback and commentary on the guestbook since the site opened asking a series of burning questions about all manner of things and coming up with some bright ideas.  Here is the first of a regular series of Q&A sessions that aim to shed light although cannot guarantee to spread happiness.

KCCC
Numerous GBers have asked about the future of the KCCC.  Rumours of its death are greatly exaggerated as it will continue for as long as there is a sufficient demand. Current plans are that all titles will, in time, be made available for downloading as part of the DGM Live archive, complete with the original notes and artwork in PDF format.  The moral of the story is that if you like the KCCC don't delay, buy some today.

Suggestions for Shows
It's impossible to satisfy everyone's demands as we each have our own favourites.  If, after a few weeks your suggestion has not appeared online, that doesn't mean a) we're not listening or b) think it's a bad idea.

Though you may imagine a small army of white-coated audio boffins eagerly beavering away at soundboards round the clock, it's not quite like that.

Getting shows online is a time consuming process as each performance has to be listened to, assessed, discussed and agreed upon.  Although site visitors understandably want it all and want it now, there are only so many hours in the day for Alex, Robert, David and Sid to do this.  Given that we also have other things to be doing, you'll appreciate the practicalities involved in getting a show out of the can and up on line.

Clearly there's been a demand for Frippertronics and it's our intention to make some of these available as the site grows and develops.  More Soundscapes will be uploaded onto the site in the near future and the KC 2003 shows are also currently under consideration.

Whilst your enthusiasm is applauded and appreciated, so to is your patience.  In the meantime please keep those suggestions and bright ideas coming.

Download Availability
No need to panic. The archive of gigs will be an online catalogue and added to on a regular basis.

Cover artwork
These will be available in PDF format only.  Where a show does not yet have its cover artwork available and you're out of download time, don't worry.  Once the artwork becomes available (notification via the news page) get in touch and it will be emailed to you.

Corrections & Amendments
Inevitably, with a site that is as big as this there will be the odd glitch here and there.  Thanks to those who've picked up on errors, typos and outright cock-ups that have nestled like vipers in the bosom of our online family here.  It's greatly appreciated although it does confirm the reputation of Crimheads for being sticklers and pedants.  Show those critters no mercy!

Site Navigation
Many thanks for the comments on this.  Your experience and feedback will help us in tweaking and altering the site to make it as user-friendly as possible.  As with other things, this may not happen overnight but all comments about the technical aspects of the site's operation are taken seriously and considered.

Payment
There are no plans to introduce Paypal as the method of payment.  I'm afraid it continues to be drastic on the plastic.

RSS / Atom Feeds
An excellent idea and one we'll look at introducing.
