Congratulations go to Nick Cave who's song Heathen Child was declared to the be the song of the year by Mojo magazine. Eagle-eyed pedants will say "But that's not the one Robert Fripp played on. That one was called Super Heathen Child" and they'd be right. But we'd say "Hey, that's as close as you get!"

Elsewhere in the prize giving season, ex-Bill Bruford Earthworks pianist Gwilym Simcock has been nominated for the Mercury Prize. Here's Gwilym's reaction at joining the long and distinguished line of jazz artists who've been nominated for the prize before it's awarded to PJ Harvey or Elbow.
