It was a close fought thing between AmbientGTR’s “...’cause I’m as freeeee as a bird now, and this bird you cannot chaaaaaaaange...." and ChewChewGumChew’s “Robert ponders the 2 hour meet-and-greet that will immediately follow the show...”
Many, many thanks to everyone who took part in event and
made processing guestbook comments something of a morning chortle for me.
The eagle-eyed visitor will have noticed some debate on the guestbook about
the provenance of the photograph which gave rise to the competition.
I received an email from Gert Jan who took the snap telling me
that it was taken on November 23rd
1973 during Easy Money.
However, Hugh “Forensic” O’ Donnell was able to prove that Gert Jan’s
memory had played tricks on him and was able to definitively date the pic to KC’s
stint at the same venue on March 31st earlier that year.
How was he able to do this?
“The barnet” said a slightly too-pleased-with-himself Hugh.
It’s not often he’s wrong and he’s right again – Fripp’s barnet
is indeed too long to be from the Night Watch concert.
A quick check of the official pictures taken
from the Night Watch concert do indeed reveal that Fripp was sporting a designer
stubble look on his cropped cranium that evening.
