Thanks to several reviewers of the 1982 Asbury Park, New Jersey show who point out that we have been listing this in the wrong venue.
This has prompted Stormy to visit the Engine Room and pull the necessary levers so that this now plays on the other side of the famous Asbury Park boardwalk in the Paramount Theatre and not the larger Convention Hall as had been previously thought.
We decided to grab the camera and take a look.

Sid Smith notes:
"This is a confident Crimson retaining its reputation for experimentation by pushing the song format to the limit with fiery versions of Indiscipline and Neurotica. For all its interlocking angularity, Neal And Jack And Me is played to perfection on this gig, knocking several spots off the version that had only recently been released on Beat. ….. this is a vital reinterpretation of what a rock group could achieve by mixing contrasting cultural influences and the pushing the timbral palette. Nobody sounded like this band at the time".
Tony Levin had his new video camera with him and was having fun capturing some backstage scenes. These can be seen in full on the DVD extras to Collectors' Club release CLUB49/50 Live in Montreal.
By all accounts this was a fabulous show on a very hot evening in July, captured on 8 track tape, and one that comes highly recommended. Check out the reviews for the full story of why there was a change of venue. King Crimson, Asbury Park, 31st July, 1982
