Every now and then Alex ‘Stormy’ Mundy emerges from the DGM vaults into the daylight and go for a wander. Recently Alex found himself in the premises of LOUD Mastering in Taunton, Somerset. "There is a microscope through which you can check the way the grooves have been cut into the master, making sure that they don’t have too much wave in them which could lead to the distortion of certain frequencies. Although the audio is coming from the computer, it does go through a digital to analogue converter before getting to the cutting machine.”
