Mel Collins steps in...

Spare a thought for the hard-pressed journalist writing a piece on the return to the stage of Tears For Fears.

With a looming deadline there just isn't always time to check your facts...

You can read the whole piece here.

Mel Collins stepping in as lead singer of King Crimson? Has anyone told the curly-haired consumer of many hair care products, Jakko Jakszyk the news? Then there's the "theatrical, dramatic eccentricity" which Orzabal shares with Mel Collins. I suppose if playing the parts, soloing and waving to the crowd at the end of the show counts as "theatrical, dramatic eccentricity" then Mel is indeed your man and quite probably "one of the best frontmen in the business."

Mel, of course, did guest on Tears For Fears' albums, The Hurting (1983) and Songs From The Big Chair (1985). And there's another King Crimson connection which the writer of the piece perhaps missed;  TFF bassist, Curt Smith attended Discipline's debut gig at Moles' in Bath in May 1981...
