The League Of Crafty Guitarists

The League of Crafty Guitarists is a guitar ensemble formed in the mid-1980s by students of Robert Fripp’s Guitar Craft courses, which he began to teach in 1985.

Guitar Craft was an intensive program aimed at refining technique, discipline, and creativity among guitarists. The L.O.C.G. performances featured intricate, often polyrhythmic pieces that required tight synchronization and precision, with the group playing in a circular formation. The ensemble’s music is deeply tied to Fripp’s philosophy of disciplined practice and innovative tuning systems (like New Standard Tuning).
