On this date back in 1969, Crimso 69 (with the 23 year old Fripp) began their residency at the fabled Marquee Club. The venue was instrumental in creating even more buzz about the band. Crimson were on the bill with Steppenwolf and Steamhammer that night, and Ian McDonald recalls in his diary that they got a “fantastic reception.” The rest as they say is history…
